长期从事造血干细胞移植(HSCT)临床和基础研究，具有丰富的HSCT经验与精湛的移植技术。对HSCT类型与供者合适选择、预处理方案优化、移植后并发症防治及并发症规范化诊治进行了系统研究。特别是对于血液病患者粒缺及免疫功能低下患者感染防治及移植物抗宿主病(GVHD)发病机理进行了深入研究。他及其团队研究发现粘膜相关恒定T淋巴细胞(MAIT)数量与功能改变可以作粒细胞缺乏发热患者菌血症较好的预警标志，指导及时进行经验性抗菌治疗；同时研究发现耐碳青霉烯肠杆菌科细菌(CRE)及耐碳青霉烯铜绿假单胞菌(CRPA)定植是发生这类耐药菌菌血症的危险因素，联合其他因素的积分系统的建立为患者获得合适及时靶向经验性治疗提供依据；他们团队采用体外药物处理中性粒细胞后明显延长中性粒细胞寿命，为中性粒细胞输注治疗耐药菌严重菌血症提供了一种新的方法；他及其团队研究还发现肺泡巨噬细胞SCIMP+外泌体与FPR构成配体-受体关系，在肺感染发生时起到趋化巨噬细胞、中性粒细胞作用，该研究为肺感染炎症反应过度／急性呼吸窘迫综合征治疗提供新方法；此外，他们研究发现MAIT细胞也参与了移植后GVHD的发生与发展，为GVHD的诊疗提供了新靶点。
